FTP Connection with Sony A7IIII

Follow the steps below to configure your Sony camera and mobile device for FTP tethered shooting with Evoto Instant. This guide will help ensure a stable connection and optimal image transfer during your session.

General Settings 

Set the file format according to your needs:

  • MENU -> Shooting -> Image Quality -> Image Quality Settings -> File Format → Desired Settings
  • Navigate to MENU -> Setup -> USB
    Set USB Connection Mode → PC Remote

    USB LUN Setting → Single
    USB Power Supply → Off
  • Navigate to MENU -> Network -> Cnct./ Remote Sht. -> Remote Shoot Settings
    Set Still Img. Save Dest. → Dest.+Camera

    Save Image Size → Original (can be set it to 2M for saving space)
    RAW+J Save Image → Desired Settings

FTP Settings

Wi-Fi Configuration

Menu -> Network -> Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi Connect ->On

  • For the first time, a pop-up will appear, choose Access Point Set. → Select the Wi-Fi you want to connect to.
  • If Wi-Fi was connected before, it will connect automatically, or you can continue choosing Access Point Set. to select a new Wi-Fi.

Input the Wi-Fi password, select Confirm, then select OK.


FTP Configuration

Menu -> Network -> FTP Transfer -> FTP Transfer Func. -> Server Settings → Select a server that has not been configured, eg. Server 1. Then select OK.

  • Go to Destination Settings → Input the IP address and port Instant indicates. (this information will be shown after selecting FTP connection in Evoto Instant).
  • Go to User Info Settings → Input the username and password Instant indicates. (this information will be shown after selecting FTP connection in Evoto Instant).

Select Confirm, you will return to the FTP Transfer Function page. Then switch FTP Function to On. At this point, it will connect to Evoto Instant.

Finally, in the FTP Transfer Function page, configure the following:

  • Auto FTP Transfer → On

  • Auto FTP Target → Still Images

  • FTP Power Saving → Off


Subsequent Pairing 

Make sure Wi-Fi is connected and FTP Function is switch to on.
