Batch editing can be a lifesaver, especially when you’re working on a large set of images that require consistent adjustments. Evoto’s Sync feature is designed to streamline this process, allowing you to apply the same edits across multiple photos with ease. In this guide, we’ll explore two methods for using the Sync feature in Evoto and highlight some key considerations to keep in mind during the process.
Method 1: Syncing Edits to All Picture
This method is ideal for quickly applying the same adjustments to an entire batch of photos.
-
Select Images: Click on the picture that has finished editing. If you want to apply the edits to all images, press Control A (or Command A for MacOS) to select all the pictures. Alternatively, you can select only the images you want to sync by holding down Control (or Command on MacOS) and clicking on each desired image.
-
Sync Edits: Click on Sync to All Pictures in the lower-right corner of the Control Panel to synchronize the edits to all selected images.
-
Customize Sync Settings: When prompted, choose the specific effects you want to synchronize with other images. After selecting the desired settings, click Synchronize to Selected Pictures to complete the batch synchronization.
Method 2: Copying and Pasting Effects
This method allows you to copy the adjustment effects from one image and paste them onto others:
-
Copy Adjustments: After editing the picture, press Control C (or Command C for MacOS) to copy the adjustment effects.
-
Select Images: Choose all the pictures you want to apply the copied effects to by pressing Control A (or Command A for MacOS) for all images, or by manually selecting specific images.
-
Paste Effects: Press Control V (or Command V for MacOS) to paste the effect parameters onto the selected images, completing the batch retouching.
-
Customize Copy Settings: While copying, you can select which effects need to be synchronized by checking the corresponding options. Click Save Settings to finalize the effects and sync them to the rest of the selected images.
Important Considerations When Using Sync
While the Sync feature is powerful, there are certain limitations to be aware of, especially regarding which effects can be synchronized across selected images.
-
Color Adjustments: When working with color adjustments, it’s important to note that you cannot sync effects applied to individual subjects, such as specific facial features or custom masks targeting only one person.
The synchronization will only apply to adjustments made to all subjects or all parts of the image, including the background.
-
Portrait Retouching: Syncing individual adjustments for portrait retouching requires special attention. Adjustments made to a single person will only apply to that same person across the batch. These effects will not transfer to other individuals within the selected images, meaning you’ll need to apply separate adjustments for each person if needed.
By keeping these considerations in mind, you can make the most of Evoto’s Sync feature, ensuring consistent and efficient editing across your projects.
