Understanding Evoto’s History Functions: General History, Liquify History, and Healing Tool History

Evoto offers robust history functions to help users manage and refine their edits with ease. These history tools are crucial for tracking and controlling the changes you make during the editing process. Understanding the differences between the general History panel, Liquify History, and Healing Tool History can significantly enhance your workflow and ensure precise control over your edits.

General History: The Master Record of All Edits

The floating History panel in Evoto serves as the central hub for all your editing actions. This panel provides a comprehensive view of every adjustment you’ve made, listed in chronological order from the most recent to the oldest. Each step can be revisited by simply clicking on the desired action in the history list, allowing you to revert to that specific point in your editing process.

In addition to stepping back through your edits, the History panel offers powerful tools for resetting your work. By clicking on the image name or the trash icon, you can undo all actions at once. However, even after a complete reset, Evoto provides the flexibility to recover your edits by stepping forward in the history.

It’s important to note that when using the Liquify or Healing Tool features, all edits made within these tools are condensed into a single step in the general History panel. This means that undoing this step will revert all changes made in that session, making it crucial to carefully manage your edits within these tools.

Liquify and Healing Tool Histories: Focused Edit Tracking

Within the Liquify and Healing Tool panels, Evoto provides dedicated history modules that allow users to track and manage edits specific to these tools. Unlike the comprehensive general History panel, these histories are limited to the last 10 steps, offering a more focused view of recent changes.

This limitation means that only the most recent edits can be undone or redone within these specific panels. Once you click Save within either the Liquify or Healing Tool panel, all adjustments are merged into a single step in the general History panel. This action effectively consolidates your changes, and upon re-entering these tools, you won’t be able to access the detailed history of previous edits. Instead, the History panel within these tools will start fresh, recording new edits from that point forward.

Evoto’s history functions offer a powerful way to manage your editing workflow, with each tool serving a specific purpose. The general History panel provides a complete overview of all edits, allowing for easy navigation and control. Meanwhile, the Liquify and Healing Tool histories offer focused tracking, helping you refine specific adjustments while maintaining overall control through the general History panel. By understanding the distinctions between these history functions, you can better manage your edits and achieve the polished results you desire.
