Right Click to Open in Evoto

Evoto supports the ability to open images directly by right-clicking from your local folder or supported editing software. This feature allows for faster access and a more efficient editing workflow, removing the need to manually import files through the Evoto interface.

Key Use Cases

Evoto as Your Primary Editing Tool

If you use Evoto as your main editor, the right-click feature streamlines your process. Simply select an image, right-click, and open it in Evoto—no need to open the software and manually import files.

Working with Lightroom Classic or Capture One

For users who rely on Lightroom Classic or Capture One for image organization or color grading, Evoto can be used as a powerful mid-stage or finishing editor. Right-click support makes it easy to send images from these platforms into Evoto for additional editing without extra steps.

How to Use the Feature

Opening Local Images Directly

1. Open your computer’s file explorer.
   
2. Select the image(s) you want to edit.
   
3. Right-click and choose Open With > Evoto.
   
4. The selected images will either:
   
   • Create a new project if Evoto is not already editing another, or
     
   • Be added to the currently open project.
     
5. Edit and export your images as needed.
   

Opening Images from Lightroom Classic or Capture One

1. Open Lightroom Classic or Capture One.
   
2. Select the image(s) you wish to edit in Evoto.
   
3. Right-click and choose Edit in Evoto.
   
4. Choose a supported export format (JPG or TIFF).
   
5. The image opens in Evoto, ready for editing.
   
6. After editing, export the image(s) back to the original folder or another selected destination.
   

Additional Notes

Project Behavior

• If Evoto is closed or at the project selection screen, right-clicking will create a new project automatically.
  
• If a project is already open, the image will be added to that project.
  

Lightroom Compatibility

Images opened from Lightroom Classic can be edited in Evoto and exported back to the original Lightroom catalog, maintaining an uninterrupted workflow.

Export Options

• Images opened into a new project can be exported in standard formats (JPG, TIFF, PNG).
  
• When working within a Lightroom-integrated project, full export options are available, including exporting back into the Lightroom catalog.
