Evoto’s Cloud Space enables seamless collaboration and cross-device access through cloud-based storage and synchronization. With this feature, you can manage personal projects, upload your work to the cloud, and access it in real time across your devices.
Note: Cloud synchronization is currently supported on Windows and macOS, but iPad support is not yet available.
What You Can Do with Cloud Space
- Switch between Spaces: Easily separate personal projects from team projects using dedicated cloud spaces.
- Upload Projects to the Cloud: Make local projects available online for access across all your devices or for seamless team collaboration.
- Download Cloud Projects: Retrieve projects that have been shared from your own space or from a dedicated team space.
- Track Upload/Download Progress: Monitor the status of your project transfers in real time.
- Sync Editing Effects and Resources: Ensure all adjustments, presets, and project-specific assets stay in sync across your devices.
Space Management
By default, Evoto opens with My Space, a dedicated area for managing your personal projects.

Uploading Projects to the Cloud
- When Creating a Project: In My Space, select Sync with Multiple Devices to enable cross-device access.

- From the Project List:
- Hover over a local project and click the Upload button.

- Alternatively, right-click a project and select Sync to Cloud.
- Hover over a local project and click the Upload button.
Downloading Cloud Projects
When opening a cloud project, the original images in view are downloaded automatically.
- The first time you download a project, you will be prompted to choose a local storage path (this path can be modified later in Settings or the Transfer List).
- You can also:
- Hover over a project and click the Download button.

- Right-click a project and select Download.
- Select multiple projects for a batch download.
- Hover over a project and click the Download button.
Smart Preview
Cloud projects use Smart Preview technology to significantly improve loading speed. The system automatically generates 4000-pixel preview images for photos over 2MB (including RAW formats), with Smart Preview files controlled under 2MB and stored on cloud servers without counting against your storage quota.
When opening cloud projects, only images visible on the current screen are downloaded. As you browse and scroll, more content loads automatically. Original images are downloaded only when you actively trigger the download or when exporting.
Note: Smart Preview supports various editing effect previews based on 4K images, making it ideal for quickly browsing and culling large photo sets. When exporting, the system prompts to download originals and provides a priority download channel for images being exported.
Loading Failure Handling
When content fails to load (metadata, version history, or retouch page), a reload option appears. Click the reload button to retry and ensure data integrity.
Tracking Transfers
Click the Cloud Transfer icon at the top right of the navigation bar to monitor the status of your project uploads and downloads.
- You can pause or retry failed tasks from this list.
- Completed tasks are automatically removed from the list for a clean view.

Effect and Resource Synchronization
- Version History: Cloud projects support versioning, allowing you to restore or switch between past edits.

- Project Assets: All project-specific assets, such as sample images, LUTs, profiles, backgrounds, and skies, are synced within the project.
- Recommended Assets: Built-in resources that are part of the Evoto library remain available across all your devices.
Version Compatibility
- Local Projects: Projects uploaded using a newer version of Evoto may not display assets correctly in older client versions. The application will prompt you to upgrade if a preset requires it.
- Cloud Projects: If you attempt to open a project that was created or last saved in a newer version of Evoto, you will be required to upgrade your software to the latest release before you can access it.
Manage Cloud Projects and Permissions in Evoto
Cloud Space in Evoto provides flexible options for managing your projects and controlling access across your team. This includes deleting and restoring cloud projects, setting role-based permissions, and understanding how assets are handled in the cloud.
View Remaining Storage
-
In My Account, you can see:
-
Remaining Storage – the amount of cloud space still available to you.
-
Total Storage – the total amount of cloud space assigned to your business ID.
-

View Storage by Space
You can check storage capacity for Cloud Space directly in the dropdown menu:
- Filter by Cloud – Use the dropdown menu to filter your view and display cloud-related information.
- Storage Capacity – Shows the total storage allocated for the selected space.
- Used Storage – Shows how much of the allocated space is currently in use.

Deleting Cloud Projects
Cloud project deletion offers two methods accessible through the right-click context menu, helping you manage both local storage and cloud space efficiently.
Remove Local Copy deletes downloaded original images from your local device to free up disk space while retaining thumbnails. Cloud files remain unaffected, and the project can still be browsed. Original images can be re-downloaded when editing is needed. This option is available to all users and only affects the current device.
Remove from Cloud Only permanently deletes the project from cloud storage to free up cloud space. The project disappears from all devices. If a device has already downloaded the project, the downloaded portion remains as a local project.
Note: When deleting from cloud, projects on devices that haven’t downloaded them will completely disappear. Downloaded portions on other devices are preserved and converted to local projects.
