Evoto 6.2 introduces powerful new features for pet photography, enhanced cloud project management, AI culling improvements, and portrait retouching updates. This page outlines all major changes included in this release.
Pet Retouching Module (New)
Evoto 6.2 introduces a comprehensive suite of pet photography tools, making it easier than ever to retouch and enhance pet photos.
Pet Masking for Local Adjustments
Quickly select and enhance pets in your photos using AI-powered masking. The new Pet Masking feature uses advanced AI to automatically detect and mask animals, allowing for precise local adjustments.
Supported Subjects
- Dogs
- Cats
- Birds (specifically Pigeons and Parrots)
How to Create a Pet Mask
- Open your image in the Evoto
- Navigate to the Local Masking panel (located in the Color Adjustment Tab)
- Under the Local Masking section, locate the Pets category
- Choose your selection mode:
- All: Selects all detected pets in the image
- Individual (#1, #2): Selects a specific animal if multiple are present
- Once the mask is applied, use the Basic sliders (Exposure, White Balance, Saturation) to edit the pet
Pet Leash Removal
The Pet Leash Removal feature allows for the automatic detection and removal of leashes in pet photography while preserving the texture and background detail of the original image.
Important Notes
- File Format: Generates a new, encrypted source image in .tsq format
- Effect Inheritance: The newly generated image retains all previously applied edits
- Credit Usage: Generates a new file and export requires 1 additional credit
- Single Image Processing: Currently does not support batch processing or synchronization
Note: This tool is optimized specifically for leashes and traction ropes. It does not automatically remove decorative items such as collars or harnesses.
Pet Stray Fur Removal
Automatically clean up pet photos by eliminating distracting flyaways and frizz. This feature quickly detects and minimizes high-frequency stray hairs while preserving the natural texture and detail of the pet’s coat.
- Targets: Messy, high-frequency stray hairs along the fur
- Method: Uses a dedicated slider for adjustable intensity (0-100)
- Result: A polished look without compromising natural detail
Pet Eye Enhancement
The Pet Eye Enhancement feature instantly improves the clarity, brightness, and color of pet eyes using AI-powered detection.
- Eye Lightening: Adjusts the luminosity and contrast within the eye area to make the eyes pop
- Eye Color Enhancement: Adjusts the saturation of the iris, highly effective for enhancing unique eye colors such as blue or amber
Pet Eye Catchlight
This feature introduces three new categories of specialized catchlight assets for pets: General, Indoors, and Outdoors. Choose from a total of 11 distinct styles tailored for various lighting environments.
Adjustment Options
- Amount: Controls the opacity and brightness of the catchlight reflection
- Horizontal Position: Shifts the catchlight left or right across the eye
- Vertical Position: Shifts the catchlight up or down the eye
- Rotation: Changes the rotation or angle of the catchlight shape
Cloud Space Updates
Cloud Project Deletion
Cloud project deletion now offers two deletion methods accessible through the right-click context menu:
Remove Local Copy
- Deletes downloaded original images from local device to free up disk space
- Thumbnails retained for project browsing
- Cloud files remain unaffected
- Available to all users
Remove from Cloud Only
- Permanently deletes project from cloud to free up cloud space
- Project disappears from all devices
- Available to space administrators only
Smart Preview Loading
Uses 4K thumbnails instead of originals for preview and editing, significantly improving loading speed.
- System automatically generates 4000-pixel Smart Preview for images over 2MB (including RAW formats)
- Smart Preview files controlled under 2MB
- Stored on cloud servers, does not count against user’s cloud storage quota
- Original images downloaded only when user actively triggers download
Quick Export to Instant Gallery
Directly sync photos to online gallery during export workflow.
Entry Location: Export menu → Share → Sync to Online Gallery
AI Culling Updates
Auto Save Tags to Local
Automatically saves all tags added during the Culling process to local Metadata of photos.
Settings Path: Settings → Performance → Library Settings → Auto save tags to metadata

Face Focus Mode
Displays faces in photos full-screen in the sidebar for easy viewing of facial details, expressions, and eye focus.
- Switch to “Face Focus” mode in right sidebar of Culling interface
- Click “Full project face detection” to scan faces in all photos
- Supports multi-face photos, can view each face sequentially
Face Gallery
Automatically identifies and categorizes all faces in project; click any face to quickly filter all photos of that person.
Applicable Scenarios
- Wedding photography: Separately filter groom, bride, and guest photos
- Event photography: Filter photos by participants
- Team shoots: Quickly find photos of specific members
Capture Time Grouping
Automatically groups photos based on shooting time intervals, intelligently recognizing different shooting scenes or segments.
- Set time interval threshold (default 10 seconds)
- Suitable for projects with clear shooting rhythm and frequent scene changes
- Can combine with AI selection to automatically select best photos within each time group
Auto Tag Enhancement
Automatically adds different types of tags to photos based on AI judgment.
New Tag Types
- Candidates: Photos AI considers acceptable quality but not meeting best standards
- AI Unselected: Photos not selected by AI
Portrait Retouching Updates
Chin Shape
A new Chin Shape feature has been added under the Facial Reshape section.
- Provides sliders that support independent adjustment for the left and right sides of the face
- Sliding left makes the chin appear wider; sliding right makes it more pointed
- Click the link icon in the center to unlock and adjust left or right side individually
Hand Shaping
A new Hand Shaping feature has been added under the Portrait Retouching module.
- Uses a single directional slider to adjust hand appearance
- Makes fingers slimmer and palms smaller without altering the bone structure
Other Improvements
Custom Background Size Increase
The maximum file size limit for uploaded custom images for Background Replacement and Sky Replacement has been increased to 20MB.
Virtual Copy Filter
A new Version Type option in the Gallery filter bar distinguishes between original imported files and created virtual copies.
- Original Image: Displays only the original photo files imported into the project
- Virtual Copy: Displays only the virtual copy files created within the software
