Evoto Mobile App: Export Settings Guide

The Export Settings panel is the final step in your workflow, allowing you to control exactly how and where your edited photos are saved. This guide details every option available in the export interface.

1. Export Overview & Status

Located at the top of the panel, this section summarizes what is being processed.

  • Selected Count: (e.g., “1 Selected”) Displays the total number of images you have chosen to export.
  • Export Images: The count of images that have been edited and processed by Evoto.
  • Original: The count of images being exported in their original, unedited state (if any).

2. Configuration Options

Export Location

Determines where the files will be saved on your device.

  • Photos: Saves the exported images directly to your device’s default photo gallery (Camera Roll). This is recommended for easy viewing and social media sharing.
  • Files: Saves the images to your device’s file system (e.g., iOS Files app or Android File Manager). This is useful for organizing projects into specific folders or uploading to cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).

Image Format

Select the file format for your exported images.

  • JPG: The most common format. Best for social media, web sharing, and general use. It offers a good balance between quality and file size.
  • TIFF: A high-quality, lossless format. Ideal for printing or professional archiving where preserving maximum detail is critical. File sizes will be significantly larger.
  • Original: Exports the file in its original source format.

Quality

Available when “JPG” is selected. Control the compression level of your images to balance image fidelity with storage space.

Presets:

  • Best: (Recommended) Maintains the highest possible visual quality with minimal compression.
  • High: Good quality with slightly smaller file sizes.
  • Medium / Low: Higher compression resulting in significantly smaller files, useful for quick previews or sharing over slow networks.

Slider Control:

  • You can manually drag the slider to fine-tune the percentage (0% – 100%).
  • Left (Small files): Lower quality, saved space.
  • Right (Large files): Higher quality, more space used.

Color Space

  • Convert to sRGB:
    • Checked (Recommended): Converts the image colors to sRGB. This is the standard color profile for the web, mobile phones, and most computer monitors, ensuring your colors look correct everywhere.
    • Unchecked: Preserves the original color profile (e.g., AdobeRGB). Only uncheck this if you are managing a specific professional color workflow for printing.

Sort by Time

Determines the metadata timestamp for the exported files, which affects how they sort in your gallery.

  • Export Time: Sets the file’s date to the current moment. Your exported photos will appear as the “newest” items in your gallery.
  • Capture Time: Preserves the original date and time the photo was taken. The exported photo will be sorted alongside the original photo in your timeline.

3. Finalizing Export

  • Export Button: The yellow button at the bottom (e.g., “Export (1)”) confirms your settings and begins processing. The number in parentheses indicates how many images will be exported.
