This guide provides a detailed overview of Evoto credits, how they are used, and a breakdown of our pricing models to help you choose the best plan for your editing needs.
1. What is a Credit?
In Evoto, a credit is a unit of currency used to perform the exporting of edited images. Think of credits as tokens you spend to “export finished images” which are your final, retouched photos.
2. What Uses a Credit?
Exporting an edited image consumes one (1) credit.
- All features within the Evoto application (including AI tools, manual adjustments, and tethered shooting) are free to use during the editing process. Credits are only deducted when you choose to export your final, processed image.
- Exporting an original (unedited) image does not consume a credit.
- Note: All sliders must be at their default position
3. If I Export the Same Image Multiple Times, Am I Charged a Credit Each Time?
No. If you continuously edit the same image and export it multiple times, you will only be charged one credit for that unique image. Our system recognizes the original image, so subsequent exports of the same image (even with different edits) will not incur additional credit charges.
- Important Note: Evoto considers reimported images as new, requiring additional credits for export. Similarly, deleting and reimporting images or projects will also incur new credit charges upon export.
4. Do Credits Expire?
The expiration policy for credits depends on your payment plan:
- Pay-As-You-Go Credits: Credits purchased through Pay-As-You-Go packages are valid for 2 years from the date of purchase. They cannot be rolled over or extended beyond this period.
- Annual Subscription Credits: Unused credits from an Annual Subscription Plan do not expire as long as a subscription remains active and is renewed on time.
- Rollover Feature: Evoto offers a rollover feature for Yearly Subscription Plans. Any unused credits will roll over to the next subscription year if you renew your plan, up to a maximum of 5 times the credit amount of your new subscription package.
- Grace Period: Evoto provides a 30-day grace period after your annual subscription ends. If you renew your plan within this grace period, your rollover credits remain valid and will be applied to your new subscription. If you do not renew within this period, all remaining credits, including any rolled-over credits, will expire and be permanently invalidated.
5. How Does Pricing Work: Subscription vs. Pay-As-You-Go?
Evoto offers two main types of payment plans to suit different user needs:
A. Pay-As-You-Go Credit Packages
-
- Ideal for: Occasional or unpredictable usage, offering maximum flexibility with no ongoing commitment.
- How it Works: You purchase a fixed bundle of credits as needed.
- Credit Validity: Credits are valid for 2 years from the purchase date.
- Credit Rollover: Unused credits from Pay-As-You-Go packages do not roll over.
- Pricing Examples:
- 200 credits: US$49
- 500 credits: US$89
- 1200 credits: US$169
- 3600 credits: US$459
(Prices are approximations and may vary. Please check our Pricing Page for the most up-to-date information. Price includes tax.)
- Devices: This plans offers support for up to 2 different devices
B. Annual Subscription Plans
- Ideal for: Consistent, high-volume users who benefit from a lower per-credit cost and additional features.
- How it Works: You subscribe annually to a plan that provides a set number of credits per year.
- Credit Rollover: Unused credits roll over to the next year if you renew your subscription, up to 5x your plan’s annual credit amount. Rolled-over credits remain valid as long as your subscription is active.
- Add-on Packs: As a subscriber, you can purchase additional “Add-on Packs” at a lower per-credit rate (often the same unit price as your subscription plan) without upgrading your main subscription. There’s no limit to how often you can purchase these.
- Subscription Tiers (Billed Annually):
- Starter Plan: 800 credits – US$89
- Basic Plan: 1,600 credits – US$149
- Basic Plus Plan: 3,600 credits – US$269
- Standard Plan: 9,000 credits – US$579
- Standard Plus Plan: 24,000 credits – US$1,339 (Prices are approximations and may vary. Please check our Pricing Page for the most up-to-date information. Price includes tax.)
- Device Support: Subscription plans offer support for a higher number of devices (e.g., Basic Plus includes 4 devices, Standard Plus includes 5 devices, etc.).
- Upgrades: You can upgrade your subscription plan at any time. The upgrade takes effect immediately, and your credit balance and subscription due date will be updated accordingly. Remaining credits from your previous plan will become rollover credits.
- Downgrades: You can downgrade your plan at any time. The change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Be aware that downgrading may reduce your rollover limit, and any credits exceeding the new limit will be forfeited.
- Credit Expiration and Renewal:
- Annual subscription credits roll over if you renew your plan on time and do not expire as long as your subscription is active. Pay-as-you-go credits, however, are valid for 2 years from their purchase date.
- Renewal Reminders: Evoto will send you a renewal reminder before your annual subscription is set to renew, giving you ample time to review, update, or cancel your plan as needed.
- Renewal Payment: You’ll be billed once per year on the anniversary date of your original purchase.
- Grace Period: If you don’t renew exactly on time, you have a 30-day grace period after your subscription ends. If you renew during this period, your rollover credits remain valid and will be applied to your new subscription. If you do not renew within this grace period, all remaining credits, including any rolled-over credits, will expire and be permanently invalidated.

- Paid Fees are Non-Refundable: Any fees already paid (for Pay-As-You-Go credits or Annual Subscriptions) are typically non-refundable.
- Subscription Cancellation: If you cancel a subscription, paid fees for the current billing period are non-refundable. You will continue to have access to the service and your credits until the end of that paid period. Any remaining credits will expire at the end of the current billing cycle and cannot be used.
- Pay-As-You-Go Cancellation: If you stop using our software during the validity period of your Pay-As-You-Go credits, the fees paid are non-refundable.

9. Anything Else Pertinent

- Tethered Shooting Fees: There is no extra fee to use tethered shooting. All Evoto features, including tethered shooting, are free to use; charges only apply when exporting edited images.
- Trial Credits: Evoto may offer trial credits, which allow you to test the software’s export functionality. Unused trial credits may be forfeited if you do not purchase a subscription or package.
