Preparation Before Wired Tethered Shooting
- A memory card must be installed in the camera.
- iOS version must be 15 or above.
Enabling App Permissions
After opening Evoto and creating a new project, a prompt saying “Evoto Would Like to Access the Camera” will appear. Simply tap “Allow”.
If “Don’t Allow” was selected by mistake, go to Settings → Apps, find Evoto, and enable the camera permission.
You also need to make sure that the “Network” permission is enabled before starting a tethered shoot.

Start Tethered Shooting
If this is your first time using Evoto Mobile or you haven’t created any projects yet, select “Tethered Shooting” on the home page or tap the “Tether” button at the bottom. Then, tap “Start Camera Check”. Once your camera is detected, its model will be displayed—simply tap “Connect” to pair.

If the camera cannot be detected for a long time, possible reasons include unstable network, incomplete camera permissions, unsupported camera model, or the camera being connected to another device. Please follow the “Pre-Tethering Setup” instructions above to troubleshoot. If the camera still cannot be detected after troubleshooting, contact support@evoto.ai for assistance.
Once the camera is successfully connected, a “Camera Connected Successfully” message will appear. You can then either enter Tethered Shooting or choose Import Photos from Camera.
- Tethered Shooting: Select a project on the new page (you can create a new project or choose an existing one). Photos taken afterward will automatically be imported into Evoto.
- Import Photos from Camera: Select the photos from your camera’s photo list that you want to import. Choose Edit Existing Project or Edit New Project as needed.
